The Village at Lyons
The Mill, at The Village at Lyons, Celbridge, Co. Kildare, is set to launch as Ireland’s premier wedding destination. The stunning surroundings of this estate make for a truly unique location for a wedding reception, with the choice of using one of a selection of the private rooms or a specially erected marquee on the grounds.
The Village at Lyons is uniquely located on the lush grounds of Lyons Estate, alongside the Grand Canal, less than 15 miles from the heart of Dublin. It is a haven of meticulously sourced antiques, fabrics and accessories which come together to create a rare and amazing treasure of architectural features, master craftsmanship and decorative detailing, along with the quality food of the venue’s restaurants.
The Mill itself is a spectacular double height space with seating capacity for up to 100 guests. The room’s panelled walls are complimented by
rich tapestries, offset by a soft and relaxing palette of neutral shades, while the dramatic 17th century fireplace and soothing sounds
of The Mill waterfall add to the uniqueness of the room. High windows along one side allow for natural light to spill into the room during
the day while at night, the sight of the waterfall enhances the charming character of the venue.
To make the venue even more appealing, world renowned Irish Chef, Paul Carroll, has returned to The Village at Lyons after a year away,
where he will now oversee the opening of The Mill as a wedding venue, and add his personal touches to the new menu. Paul will work with guests
to make sure that their wedding day menus are specifically tailored to meet their own personal tastes.
While The Village at Lyons can cater for a large number of guests with ease, the venue is also the ideal location for smaller,
more intimate occasions. The Shackleton Room and the Garden Room, both of which are elegantly styled and can seat up to 18 guests,
are the perfect locations for more personal gatherings. Another option for couples is to make use of the spacious and picturesque grounds
at the venue, where they can erect a marquee with capacity for up to 250 guests on site.
The surrounds of this venue are sight to behold in themselves. The courtyard at The Village at Lyons features a stunning dovecot
– home to four pairs of white doves, adding that extra special fairytale element to the bride and grooms big day, while a stroll
around outside at night is made even more pleasurable by the huge open outdoor fireplace.
The Shackleton House, a lavishly decorated residence on site, is available to the bride and groom on their wedding night.
With its classically styled rustic interior and remarkable four poster beds, this is the idyllic setting to begin life as a married couple.
Just like the venue itself, each detail of the day will be planned to perfection by the staff at The Village at Lyons, who will tailor
every aspect of the occasion to the wedding party’s needs, while all quotations will be based on the individual couple’s requirements.
 For the high flyers out there, there are helicopter landing facilities on site, while The Village at Lyons also has license to hold wedding
ceremonies Monday to Friday on the grounds themselves.
